Dry Skin

Stop feeling embarrassed with dry skin. Now is the time to say goodbye to unattractive dry skin on your feet. Learn how to make your feet feel soft and silky smooth and show them off with pride.

What is dry skin, why do we get it on our feet and how can you manage it?

We spend hours and hours standing on our feet every day and it is not surprising that skin on the soles of your feet can get dehydrated and sore. This leaves them looking and feeling dry, rough or even cracked.

Dry skin can be associated with lack of moisture retention in the skin. This can be caused by several things such as excessive use of hot water and/or soap when taking a bath, or even too much  exposure to dry air and wind especially during cold weather. Other causes include standing for too long, uncomfortable shoes that rub and even being overweight.

If you want to prevent dry skin on your feet and keep them feeling soft and silky smooth, it is important to take the time to properly care for them. Be sure to use an exfoliating rub to remove any dead skin cells. Follow this up with daily application of moisturising cream to help keep the skin hydrated and supple. Moisturising helps in preventing cracked heels caused by the pressure that is placed on the dry skin at the sides of the heel when you walk.

Why do feet get dry?
Sometimes the sole of your foot can get very dehydrated leaving the skin dry, rough or even cracked. This can be caused by things like warmer weather in the summer months, if you have sensitive skin or if your shoes rub. Cracked skin should be treated quickly, or the fissures can split further into the deeper skin layers causing pain and burning, especially on the heel.

How to prevent and treat dryness
To prevent dry cracked skin use an exfoliating cream to remove dead skin cells and make the skin soft, followed by a moisturising cream with ingredients like urea, aloe and keratin, to restore the hydration of the skin.
