Tips for beautifully smooth feet

When summer comes around, we all love to parade around in open sandals but sadly, our feet are often the part of our bodies we take least care of and they don’t always look their best. Plus, if calluses are not removed, the sensitive skin on our feet can tear and become more susceptible to bacteria. Dry, flaky skin and calluses should therefore be regularly removed as they appear.

Regular pedicure

A pedicure will get you started but to keep your feet looking beautiful and healthy you should start looking after them properly! It’s good to get in to the habit of regular footcare as often as you can, but that doesn’t have to mean an expensive trip to the salon – it’s just as easy to give yourself a home pedicure and can also be a nice way to indulge yourself.

Start off with your toenails. Remove old nail polish and cut your toenails straight across, if you can, use nail scissors for the best results. Now you should soak your feet in a basin of warm water. This will help to soften skin ready for the next stage. You should soak them for 10-15 minutes so sit back, relax and enjoy some ‘you’ time.

The next step is to remove the dead skin and there are various ways to do this. Scholl's Express Pedi is one of the easiest and most effortless ways as you simply switch it on and hold it over hard areas of skin for a few seconds to buff them away. After using your Express Pedi, rinse your feet back in the basin.

This next part is the best for many! Massage a thick, moisturising cream into your feet - as well as feeling great, this will improve the blood circulation. Scholl Foot & Nail Cream softens and hydrates dry skin and condition toenails throughout the day with its special formulation. Use this cream whenever you have time during the week, or when your feet require a top up.

To finish off, slip a pair of socks on to help keep your feet warm and allow the moisturiser to soak into your skin.

Your feet should now be soft and smooth. The best way to keep them like that is to give them a pedicure as often as you can.
